The University of Tartu has created a series of positions for which it invites applications from foreign academics. The hiring of staff to these positions will be supported by the European Social Fund's (ESF) DoRa Programme. The aim of the support scheme is to facilitate international exchange of knowledge, improve the quality of graduate studies and research and raise the competitiveness of Estonian universities in the specialities concerned by supporting the employment of international academic staff.

Candidates will be highly motivated specialists from abroad. They will have the ability and an interest in raising the level of their speciality at a university in Estonia and they should be willing to commit to staying in Estonia for a longer period. The candidates' qualifications must meet the requirements established for professorial positions in Estonia. The DoRa Programme can only support the hiring of such candidates who, during the previous five years, have not spent more than six months in Estonia, unless the candidate concerned received support during the previous programming period of the ESF National Development Plan.

List of positions to be filled by the international call for applications:

The closing date for submitting application documents is 1st February 2010.
