The Estonian Ministry of Education and Research and Archimedes Foundation in Estonia annually offer scholarships to foreign nationals, pursuant to bilateral intergovernmental or inter-ministerial agreements http://www.smartestonia.ee/index.php?page=348&
The following scholarships are intended for university students, researchers or lecturers for studying and doing research at Estonian public universities and institutions:
- Long-term grants for bachelor studies (1-10 months);
- Long-term grants for master studies (1-10 months);
- Long-term grants for doctoral studies (1-10 months);
- Grants for university teachers, lecturers and researchers (short-term visit 1-21 days);
- Grants for university teachers, lecturers and researchers (long-term visit, more than 21 days);
- Grants for Estonian language Summer Courses in the University of Tartu (www.isu.ut.ee) or in Tallinn University (www.tlu.ee/summerschool).
The scholarship gives an allowance of:
- 1200 Estonian kroons for accommodation per month for bachelor, master and doctoral students;
- 1200 Estonian kroons for accommodation per month for university lecturers and researchers on long-term visits;
- Tuition fees and 100 Estonian kroons per day and 250 Estonian kroons for accommodation per day for participants of the summer courses;
- 350 Estonian kroons for accommodation per day for university lecturers and researchers on short-term visits.
Applicants should apply in the country of their citizenship even if they currently reside in another country. It is not possible to submit the application directly to the Archimedes Foundation in Estonia. Candidates need to apply through the local authority, who will determine the deadline for submitting the applications. The local authorities shall then forward the selected applications to Archimedes Foundation in Estonia.
