Soiree with Parrot

This is a unique opportunity to spend an unforgettable soiree in the main building of the University of Tartu. Enter through the six white pillars of the hallowed main building and you will be greeted by your host, Georges-Frédéric Parrot (1767–1852) himself. Parrot was the first Rector of the university after its reopening in 1802 as the Imperial Tartu University. Parrot will guide you through the historic main building. You will visit the old lecture hall and the lock-up for misbehaved students. You will enjoy beautiful piano music in the neo-classical Assembly Hall, which has spectacular acoustics. Your tour will end with a festive buffet in the Art Museum. Surrounded with antique sculptures and Pompeian murals, you can enjoy wine and appetisers, which are based on the favourite recipes of the upper classes in nineteenth-century Tartu.

The duration of “Soiree with Parrot” is 2.5 to 3 hours. It is available for groups of 30 to 100 people.
You can also book a customised soiree that includes the tour and the festive buffet (duration 1.5 to 2 hours)
