21 universities (in addition to the University of Tartu) from 12 European countries (Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland): List of participating universities and application requirements
Who can apply?
Generally students from all study levels and specialities can apply, unless a particular study field is restricted or not taught at the partner university. More information about restrictions can be found from the List of participating universities and also from the webpages of participating universities. NB! Universities which do not have any information next to the name, do not participate in student exchange at the moment.
Students must have sufficient knowledge of the language of instruction of the foreign university - generally at least level B2 is required (unless stated otherwise by the host institution).
Exchange students are guaranteed free tuition at the host institution.
It is possible to apply for 1-2 semesters and the competition is usually held once a year - application deadline is in April and it is possible to apply for next academic year (autumn and/or spring semester). If not all student places are filled, an additional competition may be announced in September (for the spring semester of the same academic year).
Application documents need to be submitted to the International Student Service of UT. The primary decision on selecting students is made by the University of Tartu grant committee. Students selected by the UT grant committee must send their application documents to the partner universities. Final decision is made by the host institution.
