Senior Assistant of Immunology

Duties and responsibilities:

Senior assistant of immunology is competent to deliver lectures and administer examinations and pass/fail evaluations. The principal task of senior assistant of immunology consists in giving lectures and conducting seminars, practical study and practice classes at the first and the second tiers of higher education. He or she organises the teaching of his or her subject and supervises other teaching staff members who are involved in the teaching of that subject. The professor may also assign a senior assistant the supervision of a Master's thesis. Senior assistant of immunology takes part in the research work conducted at the institute mostly under the supervision of the professor of immunology. During the elected term of office, a senior assistant must carry out research at least in the volume equivalent to that of one half of a PhD thesis.

Required qualifications:
Master's degree or an equivalent qualification, Degree in Medicine
Required experience:
A senior assistant must be qualified to teach immunology on the first two tiers of higher education, including to give lectures and to supervise students on the first tier of higher education. A candidate for the position of senior assistant must have completed internationally recognised research equivalent to at least 2/3 of a doctoral thesis. A candidate for the position of senior assistant is expected to have teaching experience in immunology at the university level equivalent to at least two years' worth of serving in the position of assistant. A candidate must preferably has supervised students and has experience in conducting e-teaching.
Required language skills:
The candidate's Estonian and English skills must be sufficient for communication in his/her speciality.
