The University of Tartu has bilateral partnership agreements with 66 partner universities from 24 countries. The goal of UT's co-operative work is to build and develop links between the University of Tartu and its partner universities and to further mutually beneficial and diverse co-operation ties.
For entering into a partnership agreement, the primary considerations are the prospective partner's profile and academic stature. At least three faculties must also have indicated their interest in the co-operation.
The exchange of students and academic staff plays a pivotal role in building relations between universities. It makes it possible for scientists and scholars of the University of Tartu to make short-term visits to partner universities for advancing joint projects and initiating new ones. Our researchers can also invite colleagues from partner universities for short visits to UT.
