2013 Admission to the University of Tartu: 40% More Free Study Positions

This year, one can submit an application for full-time study at the University of Tartu from 24 June to 5 July. Anyone admitted is allowed to start studies for free. The University of Tartu has over 3,300 free (state-funded) study positions this year.

According to Kaja Karo, the Senior Specialist for Student Admissions at UT, the higher education reform that came into effect this year creates equal possibilities for all new students to acquire higher education for free, thus eliminating division into state-financed and non-state-financed study positions. In 2013, the University of Tartu is offering 2,231 free positions in bachelor’s studies, 983 in master’s studies and 170 in doctoral studies, making it almost 40% more than in the last year.
