Autumn School on Energy Provides Overview of European Energy Sector
On 18 to 24 September, EuroCollege of the University of Tartu, with the Free University of Berlin and the University of Helsinki, shall organise the International Autumn School on Energy in the University of Tartu (Lossi 36, room 103). The Autumn School shall provide a complete overview of the cultural, political and economic characteristics of the European energy sector.
In the Autumn School „Changing policies and cultures in Europe and Russia: environment, resources, energy”, which shall be organised in the framework of the high-level Jean Monnet study programme, teachers and experts from all over the world will share their knowledge. For example, there will be Professor Andrey A. Konoplyanik from Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, and Professor Georg Witte from the Free University of Berlin who will talk about the metaphors of energy.
Students as well as experts of the field who wish to learn more about the energy sector shall attend the Autumn School. „Within this week we will discuss topics concerning Europe directly but also the international trends in the field,“ said Andrey Belyy, Senior Researcher of International Political Economy of the University of Tartu and one of the organisers of the course. „The people attending the Autumn School will form teams and discuss energy-related issues. For example, we will discuss the cultural aspects of the energy field, the potential and challenges of the European and Russian energy relations, and more”.
The Autumn School „Changing policies and cultures in Europe and Russia: environment, resources, energy” is co-funded by the Jean Monnet Programme of the European Commission.
