During the Examination Period, the UT Library Will Be Open for Three Additional Hours

Starting on Monday, 7 January 2013, in co-operation with the Student Council, the UT Library will be open three hours longer than usual from Monday to Thursday for three weeks. The Nimmik-Nummik children’s room will be opened again as well.

During the examination period students can use reading rooms of specialised departments, group work spaces and computer workplaces, as well as borrow publications. In addition to good service and a learning-friendly environment, the UT Student Council will offer light snacks and a mental kick start to students in the lobby. There will be a health corner and a math help desk.

While parents are studying in reading rooms and borrowing books, their children will be cared for by library staff, as well as members of both the Filiae Patriae sorority and the UT Student Council.

Toddlers can climb, ride a cart, slide and play role games, such as ‘home’, in the childrens’ room. They can also piece together puzzles, draw, read and listen to fairy tales. There will be many instructive, yet fun toys and books in the room.

The childrens’ room is suitable for children aged two to seven. The service is free of charge. Nimmik-Nummik is supported by the Tartu branch of the international women’s organization Soroptimist International.
