Professor Tõnu Lehtsaar appointed Acting Rector of UT

Under the terms of the appointment, Professor Lehtsaar will act as the Rector from the 5th February 2007 to the 30th June 2007.
Tõnu Lehtsaar has held the Professorship of Practical Theology at UT since 2000. During 2003—2005 he served as UT Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and during 2001—2003 as Dean of the Faculty of Theology. Tõnu Lehtsaar has been employed in various positions at UT since 1983.
The Council also addressed a proposal to the Republic of Estonia Cabinet of Ministers to relieve Rector Aaviksoo of his duties as of 5th February 2007 upon his own application to that effect.
