Public lecture on mapping lost worlds
Professor Vincent Gaffney, University of Birmingham, will hold a public lecture „The Lost World of Doggerland“ on 15th of April at 10.15 in Chemicum (Ravila 14A, Tartu) room 1019.
Professor Gaffney has gained an international profile in archaeological and heritage research. His current research projects include mapping the inundated landscapes of the Southern North Sea, agent-based modelling of the battle of Manzikert in Anatolia and the “Stonehenge Hidden Landscapes” Project - where he leads the UK team creating 3D and virtual imaging of the largely unmapped world heritage landscape.
Professor Vincent Gaffney is Chair in Landscape Archaeology and Geomatics at the University of Birmingham and Director of the Visual and Spatial Technology Centre (VISTA).
