Public Lecture by Prof. Kasekamp in Helsinki on January 24th

University of Tartu and Estonian Embassy have the pleasure of inviting you to the public lecture “The Baltic States: Moving together or apart?” by Professor Andres Kasekamp.
With Estonia just having adopted the euro, are the paths of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania diverging? The lecture will compare and contrast the recent histories of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and discuss the question of a common Baltic identity.
The event will be held on Monday, January 24th at 6 PM in the premises of Estonian House of Helsinki, Suvilahti, Sörnäisten rantatie 22 (Entrance C).
Andres Kasekamp is the Professor of Baltic Politics at the University of Tartu and the author of recently released publication “History of the Baltic States” (Palgrave Macmillan, 2010).
The lecture will conclude the University Information Day organized by the University of Tartu Helsinki office (opened in autumn 2010, find out more: /846714).
The same event will mark Estonian Embassy’s upcoming role as NATO Contact Point Embassy in Finland for the period 2011-2012, taken over from the Royal Danish Embassy. NATO has Contact Point Embassies in every Partner country, the main responsibility of the Contact Point Embassy is to disseminate information about NATO. The Estonian Embassy operated as Contact Point Embassy in Helsinki also from 2004 to 2006.
