Saku Brewery becomes the main sponsor of UT Basket Team

University of Tartu, UT Academic Sport's Club, Tartu City and Saku Brewery signed a pact of good will assuring their support to UT Basket Team in new season.

With this, Saku Brewery becomes a major sponsor of UT Basket, significally increasing the financial support and bringing back the old and beloved team name UT/Rock.

The main purpose of the pact is to boost the development of Tartu basketball and its representing team, University of Tartu, said UT Chancellor and the Head of UT Academic Sport's Club, Andres Liinat. "In order to do that, we must increase the budget and broaden the ring of partners and I'm delighted to acknowledge that both the city and Saku have decided to increase their support to the team. It gives assuring signal to all our sponsors and supporters that one of Estonia's best teams will continue developing and getting high scores," he added.

According to the CEO of Saku Brewery, Margus Kastein, Saku is delighted to be back as the main sponsor of the team as brewery has been a long term supporter of Tartu basketball. "We have had a great co-operation during whole 12 seasons, even if it was in somewhat smaller amount the past season. We have now found means to increase our contribution significantly and as eager basket fans we will look forward to new exciting games and positive results."

The good will pact signed on 7th of August will result in long term contract between all the parties. With this, UT basket team will regain its old name - University of Tartu/Rock, Rock being one of major brands of Saku Brewery and one of best selling Estonian beers.
