University of Tartu to introduce itself in Georgia
On 25 and 26 March, the University of Tartu will be visiting Tbilisi. The representatives of the University of Tartu will be conducting IT-themed workshops and introducing the options of studying in Estonia.
Lecturer in software systems Raimundas Matulevicius will carry out workshops on the security of IT systems in Georgia’s International Black Sea University and Caucasus University.
On Tuesday, 26 March, an English test by the UT Language Centre will be conducted at the University of Tbilisi for those who wish to study in a University of Tartu degree programme. “Almost 70 students displayed interest in that option, the best 24 of whom we invited to do the test,” says Marge Taivere, a specialist in international marketing at the University of Tartu.
Additionally, two secondary schools will be visited, introducing Estonia and its higher education options. UT alumni and the representatives of the Estonian embassy in Georgia will be met during the visit. Events will be organised by UT student and intern Alexander Chanadiri under the supervision of Marge Taivere.
There are 12 Georgian students studying in a University of Tartu degree programme, in addition to 11 students participating in the cyber defence joint programme coordinated by the Tallinn University of Technology.
