UT MUSEUMS OPENS EXHIBITION OF WORK BY ARTISTS FROM KAUNAS (LITHUANIA)

The exhibition has been arranged by Curator Arvydas Žalpys of the Meno parkas Gallery of the Lithuanian Artists' Union to continue the series on neighbouring countries' art that started in 2003 with an introduction to Latvian art. The biggest exposition of Kaunas artists' works will be on display in Tartu Art House. At the same time, Lithuanian art will also be exhibited at the UT Art Museum, the UT History Museum and the Y-Gallery.
An individual exhibition of the work of the Kaunas artist Vytautas Eigirdas will be opened on 15 February at 4 p.m. at the UT Art Museum by Prof. Birute Klaas, UT Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania.
UT Museums will also display expressionist work by Lithuania's middle-generation painters Alfonsas Vilpišauskas and Vytautas Eigirdas. Graphic sheets and sculptures by Judita Budriunaitè, Egidijus Rudinskas, Eugenijus Nalevaika, Edmundas Saladžius and Algimantas Šlapikas will be exhibited at the Y-Gallery.
Exhibitions of Lithuanian art will remain open through March 13.
