UT professor received an award for outstanding life-time achievements in bone marrow transplantation

European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) Board of Association renowned professor of Haematology and Oncology Hele Everaus EBMT Clinical Service Award in recognition of an outstanding life-time achievement in bone marrow transplantation and contribution to the EBMT.

„The Society is very proud to acknowledge professor Everaus for her achievements in the advancement of haematology and haematopoietic stem cell transplantation and, in particular her enormous contribution not only to Estonia, but also to the global field, which has helped to save the lives of many patients and also for her major contribution to the training of her colleagues and young medical doctors,” said J. Alejandro Madrigal, president of EBMT.

Professor Everaus’ field of research is health and clinical medicine (hematology-hemostasiology, hemato-oncology, transfusiology, immunology).

Professor Evereaus has received 3rd Class Order of the Estonian Red Cross (2001) and the Medal of the University of Tartu in 2003.

The award will be presented to professor Everaus during the Presidential Symposium on 8th April at the Annual Meeting of the Society in London.
