Korea kultuuris on terminil "kolm generatsiooni" väga suur tähendus. Nende kolme vahelisest konfliktist "Valgustatus" räägibki. See sümboliseerib ajastu muutust, millega Korea ühiskond ja kultuur pole valmis kaasa minema. Režissöör Park Dong Hoon'i valitud perekonna põlvkonnad ulatuvad Jaapani okupatsioonist kuni tänapäevani. Tae Sun'i vanaisa kuulus jaapanimeelsete sekka okupatsiooni ajal (nagu kommunistliku partei liige ENSV's) ja tema isa pooldas 1980. aastate neomilitarismi ajal diktatuuri. Tae Sun, kes esindab filmis naissugu ja kolmandat generatsiooni, tunneb häbi oma perekonna mineviku pärast ning ütleks neist hea meelega lahti. See film on heaks sissevaateks Korea ühiskondlikesse probleemidesse, mis algavad perekonnasisesest hierarhiast. Sellest probleemide esimesest lülist "Valgustatus" räägibki. Kui saaks esimese lüli korda, siis leiaks ehk aega ka teisi vigu parandada...
Plot
In Korean culture, the term ‘three generations’ was treated with much meaning. It signifies the change of the history and at the same time, the origin of an unchanging Korean society and culture. Director Park Dong Hoon took three generations of a family which spans from the Japanese colonial period to the present. Tae Sun’s grandfather was part of a pro-Japanese group during the colonial period, and her father was dictatorial during the neo-military era in 1980’s; Tae Sun, being a daughter and a third generation of the family, is portrayed as a character who wants to deny everything about her family.The film suggests self-examination of Korean modern history effectively compressed within the family history and family relationships. The film symbolically concludes with the situation where the door of the old house requires a change. (review: LEE, Sang Yong)
줄거리
아버지의 임종을 지키기 위해 모인 가족들. 이 땅에서 큰 무리 없이 살고 있다고 보여지지만, 군데군데 어긋나고 있는 가족들. 딸의 과거, 아버지의 과거, 그 아버지의 아버지의 과거를 통해서 현재의 어긋남이 어디에서부터 시작되었는지, 어떤 선택들이 이들을 이렇게 방치하게 되었는지를 보여준다.

Born in 1972. After graduating from the Film Department at Seoul Institute of the Arts, he studied abroad and graduated from Pratt Institute of the Arts. Currently he is studying Film at the Graduate School of Advanced Image Science, Multimedia and Film, ChungAng University. He made five short films including [War Movie] (2005), which won the Sonje Award at the 10th Pusan International Film Festival. He completed his first feature [Enlightenment Film], supported by the Post-Production Fund of the Asian Cinema Fund.

서울예술대학 영화학, 미국 Pratt institute of the Arts, 중앙대학교 첨단영상대학원 영상예술학과를 졸업하였다. 〈어머니〉 (1993), 〈연결〉 (1996), 〈Looking For …〉 (2000), 〈사이에 두고〉 (2002)와 같은 작품들이 부산아시아단편영화제, 인디포럼 등에서 상영/ 수상하였으며, 〈전쟁영화〉(2005)는 로스앤젤레스 아시안퍼시픽영화제, 부산국제영화 제, 아시아나 국제단편영화제, 레스페스트 등에서 상영되었다. 2009년 ACF 후반작업 지원으로 첫 장편 <계몽영화>를 완성하였다.
