The general objective of the Medicine programme is to train physicians who:
Upon successful graduation of the programme students acquire professional and academic growth possibilities – to continue their education in a residency programme of their chosen specialty and become a doctor-specialist; to study medicine in a Doctoral Degree (PhD) programmes in Estonia or in any other country of the European Union, or have a job requiring a medical degree.

A prerequisite for applying is to have SAT test in Biology E/M (minimum score 640). In addition, applicants need to submit a motivation letter. Taking the SAT test also proves applicant´s proficiency in English language, therefore submitting TOEFL, IELTS of other proof is not required.
Admission takes place on the basis of a ranking list. When ranking applicants, both the SAT score (50%) and motivation letter (50%) are taken into account. Further information: calculating the final admissions score
Applicants are required to fill in an online application and send the signed application and required documents listed below to the International Student Service. Please follow the directions given in the online system.
* Please note that in order to be considered official, all educational certificates must bear a seal, and a signature of an authorized official. Official documents must be provided from the institution awarding the secondary school certificate or be certified by a notary or with an Apostille. Some country-specific requirements also specify the way documents must be certifed.
IBO school graduates can order the results to be sent electronically to the University of Tartu via http://www.ibo.org/.
If you applied last year as well and already sent the required documents to us, it might not be necessary to resubmit all documents this year. Please contact the International Student Service for details.
If you are interested in studying at UT, please apply for admission to start as a first year student. If admitted, it might be possible to transfer some courses and credits.
