Taaskohtumine on lugu purunenud armastusest ja toimetulekust sellega kaasneva valu ja pettumusega. Hae Hwa ja Han Soo armusid ja armastasid esimest korda, kuniks nende suhe Korea konservatiivsele ühiskonnale enam ei sobinud ja Han Soo perekonna survel oma neiu hülgas ning pere loomise asemel sõjaväe kasuks otsustas. See film räägib, kui raske on noortel inimestel teha valikuid, eriti niivõrd vanamoelises ja vanemaid inimesi ülistavas kultuuris nagu seda on Korea. Kas konservatiivsus hakkab inimlikkusele jalgu jääma ning kuidas saavad noored eales õppida, kui eksimine on lubamatu tabu? Noor inimene tahab targaks ja õnnelikuks saada ning vanemad tahavad teda selles aidata, tihtipeale arvates, et oma kogemuste põhjal nad teavad, mida ja miks teha ei tohi, aga iga mees/naine peab oma valikud ise tegema. Noores eas on lihtne kuulata vanemaid, eriti kui nende välja pakutud lahendused tähendavad ka lihtsama vastupanu teed minekut.

Plot
Hae Hwa and Han Soo were in love when they were 18 years old in high school. However, the circumstances of her pregnancy to be taken seriously, he is gone somewhere. At the age of 23, they meet again and Han Soo tries to find their child but Hae Hwa is held back by past wounds. Repeating the incidents of the past, their relationship is stuck and it proves they are still immature. In a series of turbulent incidents, Hae Hwa becomes the only person who endures all that happens. This film deals with the deprived reality of wounded people suffering from past incidents, and reminds us late Kwak Ji Kyun’s films that describe youths in Korea since mid-1980s. Set in the freezing days of winter, this film describes a portrait of young people dealing with past wounds. (review: LEE, Sang Yong)

줄거리
18살 고등학생 시절 혜화와 한수는 서로 사랑하는 사이였다. 그러나 혜화의 임신으로 사태는 심각해지고, 한수는 사라져 버린다. 세월이 흘러 23살이 된 그들이 다시 만난다. 한수는 혜화의 아이를 찾을 수 있다며 길을 나서고, 혜화는 과거의 상처와 한수의 미덥지 못한 행동이 마음에 걸린다. 그들의 만남은 과거의 사건을 반복하면서, 조금도 나아가지 못한다. 여전히 미숙한 존재들의 만남인 것이다. 이 과정을 통해 혜화는 모든 사건을 감내하는 유일한 인물로 사건의 중심에 선다. 민용근 감독은 세월이 흐른 뒤에도 과거의 사건으로 인해 상처받은 사람들의 불우한 현실을 응시하고 있다. 이러한 관심사는 1980년대 중반 이후 한국의 청춘 영화를 대표하는 곽지균 감독의 영화를 떠올리게도 한다. 과거의 상처로 인해 헤어 나오지 못하는 청춘의 영혼들이 시린 겨울날을 배경으로 아프게 부서진다. His first short film, [The Weekend] (1966) was screened at the 1st PIFF (but now to be named as BIFF). After then he made several short films and began working for a TV station. His first short film in 8 years, [The Little Thief] (2006) received much acclaim in domestic and international film festivals. He also took part in an omnibus feature film, [One Night Stand] (2009).

첫 단편 <주말> (1996)이 제1회 부산국제영화제에 상영되었다. 이후 단편 영화를 연출하다가 방송 일을 시작했으며, 8년 만에 만든 단편 <도둑소년> (2006)은 국내외 수많은 영화제의 호평 속에서 상영되었다. 2009년 옴니버스 장편 <원 나잇 스탠드>에 참여했다.
