SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMMER

A SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMMER (2 full-time positions)

The main task is developing and managing of ELIXIR infrastucture (European life science infrastructure for biological information).

Responsibilities

  • Development and administration of scientific software, the international  infrastructure for biological data
  • Analyzing, documenting, validating and managing software requirements and standards (performance requirements, standards compliance, usability , timeliness, integration of infrastructure )
  • Consulting project partners, supporting  the research community with the establishment, maintenance, enhancement and integration of infrastructures – focusing on the development for ease-of –use, performance, compliance to standards,.
  • Administration and management of data in respective information systems
  • Compilation of user manuals, tutorials and other documentation (in English)
  • Reporting of the activities


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent qualification
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, strong interest in bioinformatics
  • High degree of self-initiative and ability to work collaboratively
  • Programming skills in different languages
  • Proficiency in English

Start date: As soon as possible
Salary: 1000-1500 EUR
