Why study business at the University of Tartu?
The University of Tartu has been a forerunner of business education and research in Estonia. Thousands of our alumni work successfully in private businesses, hold important positions in public companies and institutions, or have continued in academic careers worldwide. The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration has been an alma mater for many outstanding business and political leaders. Notably, Mr. Siim Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission, and Mr. Andres Lipstok, Governor of the Estonian Bank.

Why study business in Estonia?

Application and admission
Admission requirements:


Admission takes place according to a ranking list of applicants built on the basis of scores in Mathematics and motivation letters: the share of Mathematics' is 75%  and the share of motivation letter is 25% from the total amount of admission points.
Minimum eligibility requirement in Mathematics is 65% of the maximum grade available.


Application process:

  1. Submit the online application form available on UT’s website.
    You will receive instant confirmation of your online application submission with log-in information to track your application status.
  2. Mail the required and properly prepared documents to the International Student Service by the indicated deadline.


Application deadline:
Non-EU citizens – April 15
EU citizens – June 1

NB! Applicants graduating from secondary school after the indicated deadline must send all documents available at the time of application and notify the admissions office when they can expect the rest, e.g., the date of your national exams, or scheduled date for your international English test.

Documents to be submitted for admission:

Applicants are required to fill in an online application and post the signed application and required documents listed below to the International Student Service. Please follow the directions given in the online system.

  • online application
  • motivation letter - guidelines and evaluation criteria are included in the online application form;
  • notarized/certified copy of the upper secondary school certificate and transcript/grade list in the original language;
  • notarized/certified translations of the secondary school certificate and transcript/grade list into English;
  • notarized/certified copy of results of the final national exam in mathematics (unless it is part of your secondary school certificate/grade list);
  • official results of an internationally accepted test of English language proficiency ;
  • copy of the identification document.

Internship:
Students will spend 2-3 months interning at a private or public company in Estonia or abroad.

Final BA exam:

This consists of a final exam that focuses on Business Administration and related subjects. The combined exam
summarizes studies during the entire period of the program.

Tuition fees and scholarships
The tuition fee is 3000 EUR/year and covers tuition only. Books and living expenses are not covered by the tuition fee.
