ESF DoRa programme

The ESF DoRa Doctoral Studies and Internationalisation Programme provides support to students of Master's and Doctoral studies in Estonia as well as to visiting foreign students and faculty staff. The DoRa programme lasts for seven years (2008-2015) and ca 85% of its overall budget of EEK 505 million is covered by the European Social Fund. The programme is being implemented by the Centre for Higher Education Development at the Archimedes Foundation. The actions ESF DoRa takes in supporting the study mobility of the Master's and Doctoral level students of the University of Tartu include:
Action 6: DOCTORAL STUDENTS' SEMESTER ABROAD
- Assignments abroad for 1-5 months: research activities/teaching (assignment can also be taken in two parts);
- target group: Doctoral students;
- application process: applications should be submitted to the Archimedes Foundations; applications are accepted four times a year;
- guidelines in English;

Action 7: MASTER'S STUDENTS' SEMESTER ABROAD
Please note: Applications should be submitted to the University of Tartu International Student Service
- Assignment abroad from 1-6 months: taking the integral study period (semester/trimester); results of studying abroad must be eligible for transferring records. Students can select the foreign university themselves.
- target group: Master's level students;
- application process: via the University of Tartu International Student Service. Application rules are available here. Applications are accepted twice a year: in mid-April and mid-October;
- guidelines in English;

Action 8: PARTICIPATION OF YOUNG SCIENTISTS IN INTERNATIONAL KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE
- assignments abroad from 3-21 days: attendance at international conferences, seminars or courses; short-term teaching or research visits abroad;
- target group: Master's and Doctoral students/young scientists (aged up to 35);
- application process: an application should be submitted to the faculty/college;
- deadlines and application rules are set by the faculty;
- guidelines in English;
