Booking the Assembly Hall for Your Event
The Assembly Hall is located in the University of Tartu Main Building, which is one of the finest specimens of classicist architecture in Estonia. University Architect Johann Wilhelm Krause constructed the Main Building according to design in 1804-1809.
The Assembly Hall inauguration ceremony was held on 31 July 1809, and from that day on, all major events at the university have been celebrated there. Because of its excellent acoustic properties, the Assembly Hall is a superb venue for concerts. The hall's spaciousness makes it also suitable for use as a conference venue.
After the latest renovation, the Assembly Hall was reopened for public use on 3 May 2002.
The hall has a seating capacity of 470 (340 on the floor, 130 on the balcony). Seats can be arranged as desired (e.g., in the so-called "Krause arc" or the classical arrangement).
- Mon.-Sun. from 8 a.m. to midnight - 128 euros per hour
- Mon.-Sun. from 8 a.m. to midnight - 640 euros per day
- Lecture halls in the Main Building may be used as auxiliary rooms in conjunction with the Assembly Hall - 19 euros for each lecture hall.
Charges for the use of technical equipment (according to an established price list) will apply to all users.
