Document Management System
Browser requirements, browser settings
It is necessary to have a web browser to work within the document management system software Livelink. The producer of Livelink, OpenText, suggests using the following browsers:
For Windows 2000 Professional, Windows NT WS 4.0 SP6, Windows 98 Second Edition and Windows XP Home & Professional operation systems
• Netscape 7.02,
• Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2,
• Internet Explorer 5.01 SP2 or
• Internet Explorer 6 SP1
For Sun Sparc Solaris 8, Sun Sparc Solaris 9 operation systems
• Netscape 7,0
Notes on Java versions
IE 6.0 SP1 works with Microsoft JVM (Java Virtual Machine). In this case the system should authorize the user, that is ask the user ID and password once.
IE also works with SUN Java 1.4.2_02, 1.4.2_05, 1.4.2_06. In this case the system will ask the user ID and password two or three times.
We suggest using Java 1.5 for Mozilla or Firefox. In this case the system should also authorize the user only once.

For the purpose of faster reproduction of pages, many browsers buffer them. However, this is not suitable for working in Livelink environment as every time you open a web page, the information on it could be renewed. Please check your settings for using browser cache.
