For children under 3 years of age, you can look up for the possibilities of private day nurseries (website available only in Estonian). Additionally, babysitters can be found with the help of friends, agencies or through newspaper advertisements.
There are 31 municipal and 11 private day care centres in Tartu for children aged 3-7.
In municipal day care centres the used language is Estonian and in few places Russian (Annike, Kelluke, Sirel). In order to get a place for your child in the state funded day care centre/kindergarten, you would have to contact the City Government Department of Education: phone: +372 736 1445.

Väike Pauline private day care centre accepts children ages 3-7 from different nationalities, and is prepared to help them integrate and adjust to Estonian society.

Terake international nursery class is for children at the age of 2-6.
