Tartu Ülikool koos Teaduskooliga kutsub kõik keskkooliõpilasi, tudengeid ja linnarahvast osalema 20. juulil kell 10 rahvusvahelise füüsikaolümpiaadi IPhO 2012 raames toimuvale karjääripäevale. Üritus toimub Tartu Ülikooli ajaloo muuseumis Toomel (Lossi 25) ning on kõigile tasuta.
Karjääripäeval on esindatud viis tippülikooli: University of Oxford (UK), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), National University of Singapore (Singapur), Tartu Ülikool ja Tallinna Tehnikaülikool. Kohal on iga ülikooli esindajad, kellelt on võimalik personaalselt küsida küsimusi ülikooli, pakutavate erialade, sisseastumistingimuste jne. kohta.
Lisaks toimuvad iga ülikooli lühikesed ettekanded. Ettekannete ajakava:

Tartu Ülikooli ettekande raames toimub spetsiaalselt selleks päevaks uue sisuga robotiteater ja tudengisatelliidi ESTCube-1 esitlus.
Karjääripäeva meelelahutuseks on Tartu Ülikooli leiutiste väljapanek, kus on võimalik näha ja võimalusel ka katsuda järgmisi TÜga seotud leiutisi: müomeeter, läbipaistvust muutev klaas, piimhappebakter ME-2, uudne kiirgustundlik materjal, tudengisatelliit ESTCube-1, robotid, arukate materjalide ja seadmete labor jne. Leiutiste töötuba avatakse kell 12.30. Leiutised paiknevad TÜ Ajaloomuuseumi ees telkides ja fuajees.
Juulikuus võõrustab Eesti 43. rahvusvahelist füüsikaolümpiaadi (IPho 2012). Tuhatkonna osalejaga 90 riigist on see riikide arvu poolest läbi aegade suurim üritus Eestis. Selle suursündmuse puhul kuulutatakse Tartu 20. juulil üheks päevaks maailma füüsikapealinnaks, Tartu Ülikool korraldab karjäärilaata ning Tartu Hansapäevade Teaduslinn pakub põnevust 70 töötoas.

The University of Tartu and The Gifted and Talented Development Centre of the University of Tartu are pleased to invite you to participate in Career Day 2012 which takes place on the 20th of July at the University of Tartu History Museum. The career day is organized as a part of the 43rd International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) which takes place this year in Estonia. The career day takes place at the University of Tartu History Museum (Lossi 25) and it is free of charge for everybody.
Five top universities take part in the career day: University of Oxford (UK), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), National University of Singapore (Singapore), the University of Tartu (Estonia) and Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia). It is a great opportunity to talk to the representatives of each university and ask them about the programmes that the universities offer, entry requirements, living conditions etc.
Each university will also have a small presentation in the conference room. The schedule of the presentations:

The presentation of the University of Tartu will include a robot theatre and a presentation about student satellite ESTCube-1. Don't miss it!
During the career day there is also an exhibition of inventions associated with the University of Tartu such as myometer, ME-3, robots, satellite ESTCube-1 etc. The exhibition is opened at 12.30 pm. It is located in tents in front of the University of Tartu History Museum and in the lobby of the museum.
Estonia has the honour of being the host of the 43rd International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), which will be held from July 15th to 24th, 2012. The Olympiad will be held in two locations, the capital Tallinn (team leaders), and the oldest university town in Estonia, Tartu (students). Estonian people and the organizers of the Olympiad are looking forward to meeting young physicists and their supervisors from all over the world, and to introducing them to the innovative country, which values education, has rich cultural heritage and beautiful land.
