The most vibrant event of the centenary year of Estonia’s national university will be held at the Estonian National Museum. All students, alumni, academic staff and other employees, as well as guests are welcome to the anniversary ball “Roots of the Future” to celebrate the 100th anniversary of providing higher education in Estonian.
The theme of the ball represents traditions and innovation, the past and the future. Specifically for this event, Director Tanel Jonas has staged a short performance of the same title, narrating the story of the university and the Estonian nation, because the Estonian-language higher education is the basis of the Estonian culture.
During the ball, several actors and musicians perform on stage: Adeele Sepp, Kaarel Targo, Jaanus Tepomees, Lauri Liiv and Sofia Rubina, Jarek Kasar and Tõnis Mägi, and the University of Tartu Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Choir and folk dancers.
The hosts are Saara Pius and Priit Loog.
