European College of University of Tartu invites you to a public lecture entitled “European Union Politics: How and What?” by Indrek Tarand, Member of the European Parliament.
This is a part of the lecture series which are focused on Estonian MEPs' experience and direct knowledge of the EU's processes and dynamics.
Indrek Tarand is an independent Estonian MEP and member of the Green alliance in the European Parliament. He studied history at the University of Tartu and obtained his master’s degree on European Studies from the Johns Hopkins University. He is one of the founders of The Estonian Reserve Officers’ Association and as a reserve officer he holds the rank of second lieutenant. Previously Tarand has worked as an advisor to the Prime Minister of Estonia and as the Secretary General of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has also held the position of the Director of the Estonian War Museum, worked as a freelance journalist and hosted different radio and television programmes.
