European College of University of Tartu invites you to a public lecture entitled “European Parliament: Domestic and Supra-national Interests” by Urmas Paet, Member of the European Parliament.
This is a part of the lecture series which are focused on Estonian MEPs' experience and direct knowledge of the EU's processes and dynamics.
Urmas Paet is an Estonian Member of the European Parliament, politician and Vice Chairman of the Estonian Reform Party. He was the Foreign Minister of The Republic of Estonia from 2005–2014 being the longest serving minister since the re-establishment of Estonian independence. During the years 1999–2003 Paet was the Nõmme Administration Distric Elder of Tallinn City Government and from 2005–2014 he served as the Minister of Culture. In his earlier career he worked as a reporter, senior editor and a political journalist in the news office of Postimees and later as an editor for foreign news at Eesti Raadio.
