Korea achieved rapid economic growth mainly due to the political leadership of late president Park Chung Hee and his policy of strong intervention. But as the intervention sustained long, ill-effects of the intervention amassed: unreasonable and poor management of banking sector, excessive and bad regulations stifling entrepreneurship, revolving-door employments, immoderately high leverage of private enterprises, etc. The current president is tackling against these problems but it doesn't look she could fight it off.
