On Tuesday, November 19 at 6–8 p.m., Tartu Observatory is kicking off this year's Science Wednesdays at Barlova (Tähe 29, Tartu)! This time we will talk about failures and minefields in the scientific world.
Our good friend Kirjastus Argo has just released an exciting book for science lovers called "Scientist in the Minefield".
Success stories are boring – at least those where success is only talked about and the difficulties of achieving it are not shown. Estonian scientists are among the top scientists of the world, but usually, we only see them on the pedestal, but we don´t see the difficult road of numerous obstacles thy have to conquer.
Virgo Siil, Els Heinsalu, Kaupo Voormansik, Marko Mägi and possibly some other authors of the stories in the book, will come and share their stories.
Music will be performed by the Observatory's Band.
