Professor Toomas Asser, Rector of the University of Tartu, invites all golf enthusiasts to the eleventh Rector’s Cup Golf Tournament taking place at Pärnu Bay Golf Links on 28 August.
The tournament aims to bring together people interested in the university and golf to spend a great day filled with competition, exciting encounters and enthusiastic conversations whilst meeting old acquaintances or making new contacts.
Golf players with an active HCPI are welcome to take part in the main competition where the best players of five proficiency classes, UT faculties, and three special competitions are awarded.
After the tournament, the competitors are welcome to attend a reception hosted by the university leaders, the awards ceremony and dinner at restaurant Eagle.
To participate, please register on the Golfbox website or by email at sekretar [ät] ogk.ee by 20.00 on 22 August. The participation fee is €85, €50 for players with Pärnu Bay Golf Links playing rights. Participation of a non-playing companion at dinner is €40.
The competition rules can be found here.
Novice golf-lovers and the partners of participants in the tournament who have no previous experience in golf are welcome to get a theoretical and practical introduction into golf. In two or three hours they will learn about golf rules and etiquette, golf stroke techniques and safety. They will get to know the details of golf equipment, and practice both putts and drives. The equipment needed for the golf demonstration is available on site. The participants should wear athletic and comfortable clothes and smooth-sole shoes.
Participation fee for golf demonstration and dinner is €40. Registration by email sekretar [ät] ogk.ee.
