On Tuesday, March 16th at 14.15, US Ambassador H.E. Mr Michael C. Polt will be giving a public lecture entitled ¿Innovation in the 21st Century ¿ the Advantage of Size¿ in the University of Tartu¿s Council Room, in the University Main Building.
In his lecture Mr. Polt will concentrate on development of innovation, education and technology. Everyone interested in the subject is welcome to attend.
While he is in Tartu, Ambassador Michael C. Polt will meet with the Rector Prof. Alar Karis and Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs Prof. Birute Klaas and also the Circle of International Relations student organization.
Ambassador Polt was sworn in as U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Estonia on November 30, 2009. He presented his credentials to Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves on December 10, 2009.
During his three decades as a career diplomat, Mr. Polt served as U.S. Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Berlin, Germany and Deputy Chief of Mission and Chargé d¿Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Bern, Switzerland. He has also seved as Senior Advisor to the Director General of the Foreign Service for Management Reform and was a key member of the Senior Management Steering Board directing the State Department's 2003-2005 multimillion dollar reinvention of its Diplomatic Communications System.
