Nordic Baltic Culture Centre in Shanghai
Nordic Baltic Culture Centre at University of Shanghai for Science and Technology
Nordic Baltic Culture Centre was opened in Shanghai on October 28th 2013 with the purpose to spread knowledge and to enhance cooperation between the Baltic and Nordic region and China. It’s main purpose is to create a platform for networking, sharing of experiences and cultural exchange.
Nordic Baltic Culture Centre offers Estonian students and academic staff in Shanghai a pleasant venue to meet and for Chinese students and faculty information about Estonia and its culture. NECC also works to expand the international cooperation between USST and universities in other countries in the Nordic European region. Centre promotes international and intercultural business, entrepreneurship and innovation, for instance towards sustainability.
Centre has been established in the middle of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) campus culture park, where one finds besides the Baltic Nordic Centre as well British, German, American and Japanese centres. The general aim of the USST Culture Park is to build an international platform for cultural learning and intercultural experiences. The various Centres in the park work to expand current international resources and provide support for international cultural exchange programs. The ambition is that through multicultural learning and exchange, the Park will build on existing capabilities, attracting more first‐rate international resources, promoting international cultural exchanges, broadening USST students' international horizons and promoting their sensitivity to cultural differences.
