The semester programme in Journalism is oriented for master’s level students, students with BA on social studies and students who have finished or are currently studying at journalism school. The course is suitable also for students with practical experience. The programme is based on the main research areas and topics of the Journalism Chair at the University of Tartu. The aim of the program is to connect theoretical approach and practical analysis of journalism.
The programme offers two types of courses:
- Applied courses: News sociology, Media criticism and text analysis; Comparative perspectives of the media regulation and ethics; Practical journalism (feature story, radio or TV broadcast/program, international journalism)
- Theoretical courses: Discourses of Censorship: a historical and international perspective; Media of the Minorities.
