Administration of University of Turku visited UT
On 15 and 16 April 2016, the administration of the University of Turku and representatives of the Turku University Foundation, led by Rector Professor Kalervo Väänänen, visited UT.
On 15 April, the guests met with members of the UT Rector’s Office and in a seminar, Rector Volli Kalm provided an overview of the university, focusing mainly on the course of the structural reform and the university’s role in Estonian research and higher education.
Gunnar Okk, Chair of the Board of Governors at Tallinn University of Technology and author of the report on Estonian universities, research institutions and the network and policies of institutions of professional higher education, also made a presentation at the seminar to introduce the ideas of renewing Estonian higher education and research.
On the second day of the visit, Vice Rector for Research Marco Kirm introduced the technology campus of UT. The universities have had a successful cooperation for many years. In 1987, it was the University of Turku with whom UT signed its first international cooperation agreement.
