CGI Recognises Collaboration with the University of Tartu
CGI, the fifth biggest provider of IT and business services in the world, rates collaboration with the University of Tartu highly in developing the mission management software for EstCube, initiated in 2011.
In 2011, CGI (formerly Logica) and the University of Tartu signed a memorandum of collaboration, laying grounds for joint development of the mission management software forESTCube, the Estonian student satellite. "The student satellite was the thing that made CGI look at Estonia instead of Central Europe.
They came here because of the inventive and positive spirit of young people, which was an indication of the great perspectives and future potential of Estonian education and the research system to the provider of IT and business services", Kristjan Haller, the present Vice-Rector of Science at the University of Tartu recalls. He's proud and happy that the mission management software developed together, under the name of the ESTCube student satellite, has spread Estonian students' scientific ambitions and positivity across the world.
