ESTONIAN UNIVERSITY OF LIFE SCIENCES AND UT TO SET UP A TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE
The parties signing the Protocol will immediately proceed to launch a development project to create a Technology College at Tartu and nominate a Steering Committee the purpose of which will be to launch the provision of applied higher education in technology-related fields and coordinate the activities related thereto.
Representatives of the business sector will be involved in the design of the College’s curricula as well as in teaching at and management of the College. Where the parties consider it appropriate, other universities or applied higher education establishments may be invited to participate in developing the Technology College.
The Protocol of Intentions will be signed by Alar Karis, Rector of the Eesti Maaülikool, Birute Klaas, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of the University of Tartu, Arvi Altmäe, Rector of the Tallinn University of Technology and Toomas Noorem, Chairman of the Board of the Foundation Tartu Science Park.
Plans for developing applied higer education and building a technology campus at the Eesti Maaülikool have been supported by the Executive of Tartu Municipal Council on several occasions.
