At its sitting of December 20, the Senate of the University of Tartu reelected Kristiina Tõnnisson, Director of the EuroCollege, for her second term of office. Tõnnisson sees increasing the percentage of active learning and increasing the network of foreign partners of the Centre for Applied Social Sciences CASS as the main priorities of her new term of office.
“I like the University of Tartu, the idea and team of the EuroCollege” Kristiina Tõnnisson said concerning the reasons which motivated her to run for the position. “There are currently interesting times and challenges in higher education. Several interesting ideas and developments are ongoing and I would like to contribute to them, if possible,” she added.
Tõnnisson sees increasing the share of active learning in connection with the curriculums and contributing to increasing the social and practical skills of the students through learning as the priority of the EuroCollege in the coming years. “We also have several ideas on how to connect learning and the applied social sciences research work conducted in our building. In connection with Horizon2020, we are planning to strengthen the network of foreign partners of CASS and to be more actively represented outside of Estonia as well.
