Lithuania is celebrating 25 years of Independence restoration
Lithuania is celebrating 25 years of Independence restoration. On that occasion Tartu Lithuanian community together with Lithuanian honorary consul prof. Birutė Klaas-Lang and Baltic Defence College are kindly inviting everyone to a meeting-discussion with the signatories from all three Baltic States.
The event will be held in Tartu University Main building, 139 auditorium ((Ülikooli 18) on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 16.15 o'clock.
Participants of the discussion:
- Gediminas Šerkšnys, signatory of the Act of the Re-Establishment of the State of Lithuania
- prof. Marju Lauristin, politician and social scientist, member of Supreme Council of the Republic of Estonia in 1990
- Andris Tomašūns, signatory of the Act of the Re-Establishment of the State of Latvia
- maj. Gintautas Jakštys, Head of Military History Centre in Lithuanian Military Academy
Moderator of the event: dr. Olaf Mertelsmann, Associate Professor in Contemporary History at Tartu University, the Institute of History and Archeology.
Welcome speeches will be given by Lithuanian Ambassador to Estonia Neilas Tankevičius and Latvian Ambassador to Estonia Juris Bone.
Discussion will be held in English.
