New video adverts for UT curricula by UT alumni and Estonian rapper Genka
Based on the statistics of 2014 admission, the UT Marketing and Communication Office has chosen four curricula for which video adverts have been made to increase the number of admission applications this year. The first videos are about chemistry, theology, teacher training and biology.
The main goal of the videos was to involve successful alumni of the University of Tartu, who would explain why they decided to choose such a curriculum and which opportunities it has brought to them later on. Recent and a bit less recent graduates are the best to convey their thoughts, emotions and knowledge of the studies they have completed.
The university decided to approach the target group by a personal direct statement that carries a strong and emotionally engaging message. All texts have been written by the alumni themselves, based on their thoughts and experiences and also on what they want to say to younger people following in their footsteps.
To make sure the message reaches a wider target group, Estonian rapper Genka was invited to present the texts. One exception is the video about teacher training in which Kristi Mumm, teacher of Tartu Forselius School, presents her own story.
The videos are released one by one, starting from the video of biology at the end of February. The videos of theology, teacher training and lastly chemistry will follow. All videos will also be shown at the UT Open Doors Day on 18 March.
Project manager of the videos is the UT Alumni Coordinator Teele Arak. The videos were made in cooperation with ImiD agency and the producer Vladimir Kamensky.
