Public lecture on European Dilemmas of Economic Policy
European College of University of Tartu invites you to a public lecture entitled
“The European Dilemmas of Economic Policy”
by Mr Siim Kallas, Visiting Professor of the University of Tartu and Special Adviser to Valdis Dombrovskis, European Commission Vice President for the Euro and Social Dialogue.

This lecture is a part of the series on “European dilemmas” by Siim Kallas in the European College during the Spring semester 2015. Kallas is currently responsible for advising the Vice-President on strategic and policy issues in relation to the future of the European Economic Area and the economic relations arising from the Eastern Partnership.
Formerly he has been the Vice-President of the European Commission and European Commissioner for Transport and Mobility. He has been an active participant in the restoration of Estonian statehood and has served in Estonia as Prime Minister (2002–2003), Minister of Finance (1999–2002), Minister of Foreign Affairs (1995-1996) and President of the Central Bank (1991–1995). Mr Siim Kallas graduated cum laude from the Finance and Credit Department of the University of Tartu in 1972 and starting from Spring Semester 2015 is affiliated to the University of Tartu as a Visiting Professor.
The upcoming fourth and final lecture will be held on May 20 and the topic is “The European Dilemmas of Innovation and Modernization”. The videos of the previous lectures are available on UTTV:
