Spring Days to Cheer Tartu Up
28.04.2009
From April 27 to May 3, life in Tartu will change from peaceful to bustling – the culture and youth festival Tartu Spring Days will host a week of crazy adventures as well as useful and educative events. A week-long program with over 130 events will provide various fun things to see and do.
Tartu Spring Days is the vernal week of Tartu Student Days cultural and entertainment festival, aiming to carry on the student spirit and give students and townspeople the chance to keep their spirits up.
Tartu Student Days is a festival full of culture and entertainment, targeted at citizens as well as students in Tartu. The festival takes place twice a year in Tartu, Estonia – Tartu Spring Days in April and Tartu Autumn Days in October.
Mascot of studentdays is Villem. Villem is a yellow dog and he is active, friendly and playful. The main concept is a call-up for everyone to be active and do stuff that is positively crazy. Villem matches Tartu ideally – Tartu is a city of students, a city of active young people. Villem carries the positive and a little crazy energy of young people that also the citizens and visitors from elsewhere can enjoy.
The head organiser of the festival is University Culture Club.
