Student Startup Camp at the University of Tartu
On 3-9 February 2014 University of Tartu's Institute of Computer Science and Garage 48 welcome you to participate the one-week bootcamp to taste the start-up world for IT, business, marketing & design students at the University of Tartu.
The Student Startup Camp is a first of its kind event where students will be offered the opportunity to learn hands-on how to convert a technology idea into a startup plan. The unique structure is all about teamwork, practical experience and one-on-one mentoring, aiming for all shared know-how to be applicable directly to projects being worked on.
During a full week, teams of students, coached by experience mentors, will attempt to refine high-level problems and ideas into prototypes and business plans that they will pitch to a panel of successful entrepreneurs and angel investors during the closing session.
The camp will also include a series of seminars covering topics ranging from rapid application development to marketing and social media. For example, there will be lectures about entrepreneurial attitude, marketing and social media, user-centered design and start-up life.
The event will be inter-disciplinary, gathering students from IT, business and digital design, from University of Tartu, IT College, Tallinn University of Technology, Tartu Art College and SSC Riga.
