University of Tartu will introduce itself in Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine
University of Tartu is going to Eastern Europe! UT representatives will visit Georgia from February 12 to 16, attend an international fair in Moldova from February 22 to 23, and participate in the fifth international exhibition “Modern Educational Establishments – 2014” in Ukraine from February 27 to March 1.
“The purpose for going to these three countries is to directly meet people who could be interested in studying at the University of Tartu. At the meetings and presentations, we will talk about the English-taught degree programmes, scholarships, research opportunities, living conditions, etc.,” says the consultant for Eastern Europe at the University of Tartu, Alexander Chanadiri.
In Georgia UT will participate in the joint activities with “Study in Estonia”. There will also be an alumni meeting and University of Tartu presentations. Currently, eight Georgian students study at the University of Tartu.
Moldova is a relatively new country for the University of Tartu. UT’s representative is going to attend “Education Worldwide“ international fair. “Also we have planned to hold presentations at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova and at Moldova State University,“ says Chanadiri.
“In Ukraine, we are going to attend an international fair which, in a broad sense, is the largest education forum in Ukraine which will last for 3 days,” says Chanadiri. According to last year’s international exhibition "Modern educational establishments", this foum received recognition from the public and teaching staff for its professional and scientific level, and was considered the highest rated large-scale educational exhibition in Ukraine. “After the fair we will visit the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and hold a workshop and alumni meeting there,” says Chanadiri. From Ukraine, there are 27 students studying at the University of Tartu this semester.
