Read why Leho Ainsaar is running for dean
Leho Ainsaar, dean candidate in the Faculty of Natural and Exact Sciences:
I am running for dean of the Faculty of Natural and Exact Sciences because I feel I can contribute to the development of the faculty with my previous experience in the university organisation. Long-term experience with various structural reforms (forming the Institute of Ecology and Earth Sciences, creating the Faculty of Science and Technology) will help ensure smooth directing of the faculty’s integration in this era of reforms. It will also help understand and represent the interests of institutes within the university and outside the university.
Ahead are important tasks — developing infrastructure (incl. the question of the faculty’s buildings), developing curricula, adjusting to and influencing the constantly changing conditions of research funding and many other topics are all significant challenges. Working on all these matters in cooperation with all institutes is something I as a leader would like to and could contribute to a greater extent.
